So off to the ER we all went. Of course we arrive at the hospital and she's content as can be and my thought was that there was going to be nothing wrong with her other than a cold. The triage nurse wasn't exactly gentle with her when taking her temp and trying to get her oxygen levels so that didn't put her in a very good mood. Fortunately everyone else at the hospital was wonderful which is in line with all of my other experiences at Milford. The doctor felt that her one lung sounded "junky" and based on her age he ordered a chest x-ray. This was another traumatic experience for her. Jake put on the lead apron and held her in this plastic contraption and he had to hold her arms over her head. Let's just say this was not her idea of a good time. Without the radiologist weighing in, the doctor felt he could see something on the same side where she sounded bad and felt it was the beginning stages of pneumonia. Fortunately we caught it early and she started the antibiotics last night. Believe it or not she gulped them down like it was her favorite cocktail. No complaints there!
I'm hoping she's on the mend at this point. Her breathing definitely sounds better although she's extremely fussy and we're having a hard time keeping her happy. But who can blame her, I'm sick too and I'm not exactly a peach to be around either. Oh and on top of this, she also came down with conjunctivitis last week as well. I guess the daycare illnesses are really kicking in. Hopefully she'll be healthy for my next post.
