Pedi appointment

We had Paige's six month appointment this morning and overall it went well.  It was at 9 a.m. which is typically morning nap time but she was content as can be despite that.  She only weighed in at 15.5 which is a mere one ounce more than she weighed when I brought her in for a wheezing episode almost a month ago.  She had a big growth spurt in her height which was 28 inches!  So her weight was 50%, height was almost 90% and head size was 75%.  Overall pretty decent but her weight to height ratio had dropped pretty significantly so guess what that means?  We have to get this girl to take some solids.  Her suggestion was to add some rice cereal to the bottle a few times a day while we work on her taking it with a spoon.  She said that some babies have a strong gag reflex and hopefully this will improve over time.  We need to bring her back for another weight check in a month and to report back on the solids situation.

Other than that, everything looked great.  She felt like her head control was strong, she's almost sitting up and she will put a lot of weight on her legs if you hold her in the standing position so all of that was a big thumbs up.  Definitely good news.  She did well with the shots, barely crying at all.  Both the pedi and the nurse were so impressed with her laid back demeanor.  I guess she's inherited her father's personality now that she's gotten past the fussiness.  Ok, off to try the rice cereal in the bottle...
